| Beginning in 1976, Rocky's story wouldn't end until 2006. As the series started off film producers were skeptical of how the public would recieve it. Yet weeks after the films release, it was clear that Rocky was here to stay. The story opens up with the tale of an underdog who know one believes in. Rocky is a debt collector for a local mafia member but to make some extra money on the side he does the thing he is best at, fighting. Once the heavyweight champion, Apollo creed releases a statement that out of all of the boxers in the United States, Rocky was chosen, Rocky's life changes dramatically. Rocky can't believe the sudden change in his life. He was finally given a once in a lifetime shot at the high life and he wasn't going to let anyone take it away from him. To get him ready for the big fight, Rocky's mentor Mickey, persuades Rocky to let him train him. With Mickey's help and the support of Rocky's girlfriend Adrian, Rocky is ready to fight. When the big night finally comes the spectacular. Rocky surpasses everyone's expectations at lasts all fifteen rounds. The fight was a tie. For the next 30 years the story of Rocky would continue. He will go on to face many new opponents including Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, Tommy Gunn, and his final fight with Mason Dixon. Even though the story of rocky may have ended in the movies, it will forever live on in the fans. |
