The 1970's were a decade of many unique artists.   Andy Warhol came out with many inspiring pieces of art during the 1970's.   Ed Kienholz was an artist that made sculptures and was really one of a kind.   Wayne Thiebaud was known for his paintings of the objects mainly found in cafeterias and old school diners.  

Andy Warhol wanted his own style of art.   Warhol was born on August 6 th 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.   When Warhol was a child he was diagnosed with a disease called St. Vitus's Dance.   This disease cause involuntary movements with his body and later was shown as a complication of Scarlet Fever.   While Andy was diagnosed with this disease he had to lie in his bed for long periods of time.   While he would lay in his bed he would collect images of celebrities, draw and listen to the radio.   When Warhol looked at his early life he told the press that it was a very important time that inspired a lot of his creativity.   Later in Warhol's life he was not only an artist but he was also a filmmaker.   Otfen he would make his art brighter so it would stand out.   On February 22 nd 1987 Andy Warhol died of a sudden heart attack after his gull bladder surgery.  

Edward Kienholz was born on October 23 rd 1927 in Fairfield, Washington.   While Kienholz was in school he ad no artistic training and had a series of odd jobs.   His odd jobs helped influence many of his sculptures.   Some odd jobs that he had included a nurse at Psychiatric hospital, a caterer, a use car salesman, and a manager of a dance band.   He later moved away from Fairfield, Washington and settled down in Los Angeles, California.   When he settles in L.A he started to become introduced to the arts.   He opened an art gallery with his close friend Walter Hopps.   In the art gallery Kienholz started to really express his older jobs in his present job.   Sculptures like "Illegal Operation" and "State Hospital" both represented his position as a nurse in the psychiatric hospital.   On June 10 th , 1994 Kienholz died in Los Angeles, California and his gallery soon closed down after.

During the 1970's music took a drastic change.   Rock N' Roll became the second most powerful form of music.   Artists tat were popular during the 1970's include, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Chicago and the one and only Jimi Hendrix.   The most popular form of music was Disco.   Disco made people want to dance.   People were very intrigued by the mix of Latin and swing music. People automatically fell in love with this type of music because it has the effect to make people happy.

The 1970's were a memorable decade and will be remembered for many years.   People can look back and say that it was the prime in there life.    The 1970's were a decade of many important artists and many important movements.
